The Party Is Never Over!

My first luncheon party guests arrived at 11am...which was very fitting...as it was the 11th day of the 11th month and I was born shortly after the llth hour. My last guest left at 12.20am on the 12th day of the llth month...which was equally fitting...but I can't remember why!

It was one of the best birthday celebrations I've had, and I've had some good ones! As it was a surprise party for me, put on by me and I didn't tell me anything about what was planned...I wasn't surprised!

It has been a wonderful day and night...and early morning...and I'm still not ready to go to bed! I've got some good music playing...and I'm feeling on top of the world.

Oh! Yes! There are a few empties!

Good for you, Lee! There is nothing like a good hooley to get the blood going! However, I am curious - are you in bed or not yet (it's about 9.30 am) and how is your head??

  2. I finally got to bed a little after 2am, Robyn...woke again at 6.30...grabbed the 'Sunday Mail' and jumped back into bed to read it! The cats haven't left my side this morning...they're not a social pair and watched yesterday's goings on from affair.

My head is fine...but I won't be doing anything too energetic today, that's for sure! ;)

  4. Congrats Lee it sounds like you had a great day. I went to the service yesterday and then met a wonderful bunch of guys (ex service) and we sat around, drinking beer and telling *war stories. It was great day.
*war stories are usually called waries and have nothign to do with war but more about the shenanigans we all got up to in our youth visiting different places and countries.
PS: You talked about cylcone Winifred in '86 but did you also ride thru that terrible one in March'88? Charlie? I was on a Search and Rescue plane searching for yachts during the Expo

  5. March '88...I was then living at Yorkey's Knob...don't recall Cyclone Charlie...obviously it struck further south of Cairns.

I was, however, on Newry Island when Cyclone Joy paid a visit Christmas 1990! I wrote a little about it in a previous post.

Glad you had a fun day, too Scorpy! I certainly did! It was 'mad'! Just as well it wasn't full moon as well! ;)

  8. I felt about two hundred and twenty Sunday, Della! ;) But I'm fine again now! No...I didn't think of buying my self a present...normally do...never gave it a thought this year. I do at Christmas so I'd better buy myself two this year to make up for my forgetfulness! ;)

  11. Err, please accept my belated birthday greetings Lee and I trust you had a wonderful day. Also I once weathered a cyclone up Cairns way back in 97. It was pretty exciting but fortunately was in a cyclone proof building.
