Unfortunately, very few Muslims are stepping forward and putting their hands up to fix what is going on. Therein lies a major problem.

In my opinion, the Muslims, whether fundamentalists/radicals or whatever else want the whole world to follow their beliefs; for everyone to join in with them and become followers of Islam. I tried to write about it in my blog but I just couldn't. Your poem expresses it well. I don't want that bunch of sadists, misfits and criminals to succeed against those of us who don't agree with their hateful views - because everyone who doesn't follow their line is their enemy. It is hard to stand together yet not be aggressive back to them but I hope we can all do it. The vocabulary seems blunt, almost physical and the ideas are challenging - grabbing readers by the throat instead of floating away on wispy poetic clouds. The belief was the brightly colored bottles would capture the evil spirits and not allow them in your house. It's a custom more prominent in the South.

A normal bottle tree looks quite different from mine but that's what makes it mine, I guess. I just thought the first one was too dull. I had moved it to make way for my dragon project...mustn't get too cluttered...and it just looked Plain Jane. My mind took off from there. The decision to hang the bottle upright was simply a matter of balance. I only had a few limbs the bottles could stick on so by hanging them with wire I could basically put them anywhere.

I looked for colored bottles but could not find enough so then I jumped to clear and paints and glitter. One of those is a soy sauce bottle!

My mind jumped again! If it's a hanging tree...then I should hang more like a Christmas tree. My Fairy Stones had holes and are far easier to enjoy hanging than laying flat.

Then my mind jumped to the bucket of Dad's spark plugs I had saved when cleaning the shop. I could not throw them out (I'm thinking spark plug wind chimes now!) I carefully tied them and hung them too.

Now I have a memory tree, each piece has a story and I have mixed numerology in the hanging objects. That's a whole new ball game but I wanted seven, nine, and five which are all spiritual numbers.

And I guess that's the tale of how and why....Thanks for asking.Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04219479223227928561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-42239191448955930492015-11-16T11:29:27.893-08:002015-11-16T11:29:27.893-08:00Hi Miss Kitty...I hope you are feeling much better...Hi Miss Kitty...I hope you are feeling much better...and a smile once again is on your face. Thanks for your kind words and uplifting comments. I agree with you astute view but alas it emotional wounds are worse because you have a sense of betrayal. I take my cue from Raffi from The Lion King movie "It is in the past, learn from it or forget about it." I also paint with a Ty beanie of Raffi on my easel and often have to explain his meaning.
