When I want to change direction I do, but when the Universe changes things for me, that's a different matter.

However, I do agree that the essence of each of us probably doesn't change over time. Our outlook might, our minds do, but the innate sense of us doesn't.

However, if we didn't change, we'd stop growing in maturity, mental strength, et cetera so I guess the whole thing is to keep us on our toes...Puss-in-Bootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02313418336654760327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-52801579268970178622010-06-09T16:31:58.876-07:002010-06-09T16:31:58.876-07:00Hi there Lindsay...."hopefully" being th...Hi there Lindsay...."hopefully" being the operative word! ;)

Hi Lady Di...I hear you loud and clearly! :)Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15835982875620956300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-3259455963836641682010-06-09T07:25:15.995-07:002010-06-09T07:25:15.995-07:00CHANGE That is what obama used for his campaign an...CHANGE That is what obama used for his campaign and nothing has changed. He is a media whore as he has been on tv more than any president we have ever had and he says the same thing over and over. Which is vertual nothing. Just listen careful to his speeches. His change was very over rated as nothing has changed in DC.
So in a nutshell I guess change as a word could be overrated.
Maybe staying the same is not so bad no matter what the case may be. I do think we remain essentially that same person throughout life which is in effect to be true to one oneself. But I also think our life philosophy can change with new ideas and learning so that hopefully we also become somewhat wiser in later life. That wisdom might also give rise not to take oneself too seriously just as others are apt to do likewise.
best wisheslindsaylobehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16774918551798647046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-52205036631702005382010-06-08T15:45:40.481-07:002010-06-08T15:45:40.481-07:00Hey! "They don't turn into other creatures. The truth is we all still have our child, our adolescent, and your young woman living in us."
I couldn't help but recall this when reading your next to last paragraph.
A maple tree is always a maple tree from seedling to fire-wood but along the way we percieve the physical changes. We are always human but as we grow, subtle changes occur with each turn of the wheel of time.
And so it is; if we won't/don't turn, we'll end up where we are going. ;)
relrelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09030572981830789370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-21307295746323351362010-06-07T13:30:29.583-07:002010-06-07T13:30:29.583-07:00One could say similar about here, Cliff...only our...One could say similar about here, Cliff...only ours, hopefully, will start this year!Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15835982875620956300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-53465019692307009702010-06-07T06:01:03.665-07:002010-06-07T06:01:03.665-07:00I like the 100 year old man who said "I'v...I like the 100 year old man who said "I've seen a lot of changes in my life...and I've been agin everyone of them."
The US is going through a lot of changes for another two years but it will be over then.Cliffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12676389902079486865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27914104.post-23447431210035317512010-06-07T00:09:35.879-07:002010-06-07T00:09:35.879-07:00Oh! I think that life is all about change.
Old...Lee,

I think that life is all about change.

Old Ben Franklin was right “When you’re finished changing, you’re finished!” I think what he meant was, when you stop changing you die.

Think about those poor old people in convalescent hospitals, the only change for them is for medication or an occasional visitor.

I keep trying to learn new things. To keep fresh and keep my mind active.

Janice~Janice Seagraveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02576031935823587485noreply@blogger.com
