A BIT OF STILLNESS AMONGST THE EXCITEMENT!

I'm exhausted already and there's still 12 days to go! Yes! I'm referring to the Olympics. Every event I watch, I'm competing along with the competitors! I feel their pride and I applaud their achievements, whether win or lose. The long road they've traveled to get to this point has been a difficult one full of early mornings and endless days of hard training.

To all those fine young people (those who are drug-free),I bow to your determination.

If I was wearing a hat, I would take it off to all those fine competitors.

My absence I'll have to put down to all the training I've been doing - it's taken up a lot of my time lately! Now, you'll have to excuse me while I go back to the parallel bars!

I'm sharing a couple of my paintings with you - I did them between laps of the pool!

  1. Hello Miss Lee. The Olympics are a terrible time waster. Thank goodness they only last for two weeks. Nice paintings.

  2. I know, jmb - I get caught and sucked in every time. By the end of the two weeks I'll be suffering from withdrawals!!

But there are some magical, emotional moments - some very inspiring stories and I'm frequently misting up and choking. I'm a big sook - I know!

    Time waster!
    I totally agree.
I can't help myself but to jump around the loungeroom screaming and yelling at the television in hope that just one of our Olympians will hear my enthusiam and get them closer to that medal.
I must look like a total fool.

Beautiful artwork Lee. I love the first one for all the serenity it promises but would dearly love to venture inside the second one for the sunny prospect it promises.

May your Olympic days be golden!

  5. Welcome back, Lee. It's good to read a post from you.

What can't you do? You write, paint, cook...a lady of many talents you are. I love your paintings, especially the one of the tree trunks mirrored in the water.

I agree with you on the Olympics...exciting stuff and many late nights sitting up watching...it happens every Olympics, I can't not watch.

Have a lovely weekend and don't overdo it swimming the 1500 with Grant Hackett tomorrow.

  6. Yes it is good to read your post and I almost read a little bit of humor in the post also. I hope things are going good for you and continue with the humor in your post. Be blessed and have a great week watching the Olympics. My sister pulled out the year books from junior high and high school to show all of us that night the man that my niece went to school with. My sister taught him in the 4th grade. The man of the hour at my sister's house to watch, Raj Bhavsar.

    Lee,
    Hope you are doing well.

We are about to have another Hurricane in the next day or so. We are inland enough that we will only be getting rain and some wind. We are on high ground, so flooding should not be a problem...I hope.

  10. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read and comment - I really don't deserve your participation as I've been so hopelessly slack lately. Time - where does it go to?????

Gledwood, when my book becomes a bestseller, I will give you a painting!! ;)

Monday will be December 1, 2008 and I am wondering where the year went.

The Liberals (AKA Marxists and Socialists) won the government for the first time in many years. The elections were a great time waster for us. I fear for my country and my freedom now.

It will be a long 4 or 8 years before any thing changes for the better (maybee) and I will be really old by then. I am looking for an Island paradise to move to.
    Any sugestions?

    Hi Lee,

I am sad that you have abandoned your blog. A bunch of us enjoyed talking with you over the years. I am not much better though. We have not updated our blog with all of the new pictures we have taken for a while.

Well, I turn 65 next week and am now on the Dole so to speak. Let's see how long that lasts. with our new spender in chief.

    Hope you are doing well,

    Marc and Sally
