I rarely post music videos, but after seeing Harry Styles' performance on “The Graham Norton Show” a couple of weeks ago...as seen here...not a day has gone by since I’ve not played this song/video...more than once daily.  I love this song...and his performance.

What a good-looking young man Styles is, too!!  Wow!

Of course, over the years I’ve read all the hype/gossip etc., about the boy band “One Direction”, but never paid them much attention, believing they more suited the younger generations...but Harry Styles, now gone his own way, as have others in the group, really made me sit up and take notice with this performance.   This song has really "grabbed me".

From his “on the couch” segment with Norton and his other guests that evening Harry Styles came across as a very nice young fellow, too.

I’m hooked!   There is life left in this old bird, after all!   (I knew it, but others might have been prepared to argue the point)!

In my extremely humble opinion, this song is one of the best around at present, if not the best...and it’s one of the best, if not the best, I’ve heard for a long time.

Thumbs up from me, Harry!  You can add me to your list of fans!

 Unashamedly, I’m now in style!!

In the words of "Molly Meldrum"....'Do yourselves a favour...."

The song...the lyrics resonate with me.....I don't know why...but they do....

"Sign of the Times"

[Verse 1]

Just stop your crying, it's a sign of the times
Welcome to the final show
Hope you're wearing your best clothes
You can't bribe the door on your way to the sky

You look pretty good down here
But you ain't really good

[Pre-Chorus]
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? The bullets?
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? The bullets?

[Chorus]
Just stop your crying, it's a sign of the times
We gotta get away from here
We gotta get away from here
Just stop your crying, it'll be alright
They told me that the end is near
We gotta get away from here

[Verse 2]
Just stop your crying, have the time of your life
Breaking through the atmosphere
And things are pretty good from here

Remember everything will be alright
We can meet again somewhere
Somewhere far away from here

[Pre-Chorus]
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? The bullets?
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? The bullets?

[Chorus]
Just stop your crying, it's a sign of the times
We gotta get away from here
We gotta get away from here
Stop your crying, baby, it'll be alright
They told me that the end is near
We gotta get away from here

[Pre-Chorus]
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? The bullets?
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets? The bullets?

[Bridge]
We don't talk enough, we should open up
Before it's all too much

Will we ever learn? We've been here before
It's just what we know

[Outro]
Stop your crying, baby, it's a sign of the times
We gotta get away, we got to get away
We got to get away, we got to get away
We got to get away
We got to, we got to run
We got to, we got to run
We got to, we got to run......

  1. You are very lucky with your passion for music. It largely leaves me cold and I am aware that I am missing out.

    1. I can't imagine not enjoying music, EC. My love of it covers all genres, really. It played a huge role in my childhood...and I guess that's where the love began.

      Thanks for coming by. :)

  2. Didn't recall Harry in my brain so looked him up and yes, now I recall - nice words and at least you can understand what he's singing.
    Love music.

    1. Hey there, Margaret. This song really struck a chord with me (no pun intended). I'd heard it being promoted on TV...in promotion of Harry's new solo album that's just been released...but upon seeing this particular performance on Norton's show...I was hooked!

      Thanks for coming by. :)

  3. That's an interesting sound that I could get used to. I'm pleased to see women band members too on the drums and keyboard! I usually ignore boy bands too and have to confess I don't keep up with what happens to them.

I've been playing the clip regularly...I love it!

  4. I have to admit, it is a good song even though I normally scorn all offerings from manufactured TV talent show acts. When Styles tours Australia he may want a peaceful, anonymous break away from all the razzmatazz. Perhaps you can invite him to stay in your luxury mountain hideaway for a night or two but I should warn you he is afraid of sleeping on his own.

    1. Perhaps I could invite Styles to stay in my most humble, two-room rented cabin, which, in fact, is actually just a converted shed, Yorkie. In truth, I'm very choosy about whom I choose to invite.

There's barely enough room for my two furry rascals and me in my tiny abode.

Even though my bed is a king-size...there is barely enough room in it for me, Remy and Shama. And, it's only because of the begrudging goodwill of the latter two that there is room for me.

In response, I should warn you - I'm not afraid of anyone who is afraid of sleeping on their own. He would have no fear, however, because there is not enough spare space in my cabin to ever feel alone.

Fear not, Mr. Pudding....I think I was the original "cougar", anyway. I'll be able to handle the situation. Back in the mid to late 80s I was in a relationship for 18 months or so with a handsome young blade who was much younger than me.

All is well in the Land of Oz.

    2. The cougar is an ambush predator and pursues a wide variety of prey. Primary food sources are ungulates, particularly deer, but also livestock. It also hunts species as small as insects and rodents.

  5. I do like most of the music of today and enjoy this one also. My granddaughters love One Direction, especially Harry, oand count seeing one of their concerts a couple of years ago as one of the greatest days of their lives.

    1. Hey there, Arleen. Those young lads certainly have set many hearts a-pounding; and you can see and hear why. And...there's nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned. Harry is a good-looking young man...and he really displays his talent in this latest song.

      I love music...I always have.

It is a far nicer feeling to admire others and their talent - in whatever field it lies - than to tear them down just for the sake of it. Credit where credit is due, I say. :)

      Thanks for coming by. :)

  12. Thank you for the reminder, Lee! I am rushing around this morning, but after seeing your comment on my blog, I got my cup of coffee, sat back in my office chair here at home and listened. That is a wonderful song, and his voice is lovely. He's right handsome, too! :) Cheers, my friend!
