A FILL-IN POST UNTIL I FIND TIME TO COMPOSE AND POST ANOTHER....

Me from ages...12 years to 26 years...

 Reflections...Not In a Mirror...

Looking back throughout the years
I wonder where time has gone
Laughter shared but alone the tears
Often I think life is just a con
Oh! How to make time stand still
I’d wish upon a star up high
To halt the rapid slide downhill
Instead I shall reflect with a sigh

Poem and graphite sketches by me....written and drawn a few years ago.

  1. You were and are a beautiful woman, Lee. Our bodies all get old, but not our spirit. How lucky we are to experience this age that many others don’t.

    1. Hey, Arleen -...You are correct in what you say about our spirit...our spirit fights on. The body gives us grief...I know mine is today...I over-extended doing a few physical jobs, and I'm now being reminded that I did! I expected it, though...

Thanks for you kind comments..and for coming by. :)

  2. You and I and a few other women that I know are so lucky! Maybe luck is not the right word. We still find interesting things to do everyday, we do not dwell on our past even tho we think about it often. We are basically persons still interested in living! And loving. And learning. And getting on with it....whatever "it" might be.

    1. Hey there, Peace Thyme...Yep...I don't dwell on the past, but I do enjoy the memories I've retained of times gone by...the good...and the bad. Both go hand in hand....and the latter make one appreciate the former.

To keep on learning new things, no matter how small...is a good thing...as is having various and varied interests.

      Thanks for coming by. :)

    1. Thanks, EC...I'm just a dabbler, dabbling purely for my own enjoyment, although, in saying that I've not done any drawing or painting for a while.

Thanks for coming by. Have a good weekend.:)

  4. You've got talent (judging by your sketches and poem)! I know talent when I see it. Me, I can't even draw a straight line, but I'm thankful to God even for that.

    1. G'day DUTA....I always feel I'm standing on the outside looking in when it comes to sketching, painting and poetry...but I have fun trying. I've not done much of any of it of late.

      Thanks for coming. :)

Not quite what came through on my rss feed. You were a looker, for sure. I was just thinking today that I should have taken financial advantage of my my skinny and smooth drover's dog younger self. Instead I went for love. Bah!

    1. I'm confused...what came through your rss feed, Andrew?

Never say "Bah!" to love. One's life would be empty without it.

      Thanks for coming by. :)

    1. Hey, messymimi...you are too kind. I passed with a push...the inside is what matters most and I hope no push is required there. I hope I'm a good person. :)

That's our friend Down Under, the pretty LEE!

Sorry, you might realize that Dr. Seuss is a hero of mine! xx

    1. Hey there Kay....Dr. Seuss, although I'm very familiar with him etc., I'm not familiar with his books....they didn't play a part in my childhood. Now I'm going through my second childhood perhaps I should take up reading them! One is never too late to start something new! :)

      Thanks for coming by. :)

    1. Thanks, Jan...I'm doing a big de-cluttering at present, and it's amazing the stuff I've discovered that I've not seen for years. A lot is being dumped at the dump, and a lot is being taken to the Op Shops.

Many personal papers and photos...of family long gone...can't be parted with, however.

I don't do any sketching/drawing or painting these days...I've run out of room to store or hang them!!

      Thanks for coming by. :)

    1. Hey Jan...the years have caught up and taken over...I never get my photo taken these days...I hate photos of myself. I'm not the "selfie" type! lol

Thanks for coming by and your kind coment. :)

  11. I am looking forward to your next post Lee. In the meantime, thanks for sharing your creativity. As a writer of poetry myself, I am always keen to applaud those who are prepared to have a go at it. Poetry is frequently the most effective way of conveying difficult, deep or complicated feelings.

    1. So am I, Yorkie! :) I'll have to put my thinking cap on and get my fingers walking.

I was writing a lot of poetry a while back, but of late I've been very slack in that department.

Some poems can be very personal...and are at times, difficult to share.

      Thanks for coming by. :)
