And this is a photo taken of my friend Joy (on the left) and me at last Sunday's market. We were having a most enjoyable catch-up over over coffee, sausage rolls and a custard tart.
See! We've not changed a bit....since last Sunday!
:
You've changed a little, hair colour at least, but both still beautiful and recognisable. I love custard tarts.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! We changed our clothes, too!
DeleteYes...I love custard tarts...and it had been a long time since I'd had one, until last Sunday.
Thanks for coming by, River...take care. "_
Lovely photos of the two of you, such a wonderful friendship of many years you have.
ReplyDeleteI have a long friendship and still going 79 years with one person, Lee.
Hello Margaret...It is wonderful to still have some old friends...friends of longstanding. One very good friend of mine I've known since I was three and a half years old. We met when my family and I moved back to Gympie in 1948. We lived across the street from each other.
DeleteShe is 6 years older than me. That means she is now 86, and I am 80.
However, the age difference, no matter what ages we were at any given time has never made any difference to our friendship.
Thanks for coming by...take good care. )
That's a wonderful friendship you have there then Lee. Precious, isn't it!
DeleteYes, it is, Margaret. I consider myself very lucky to still have a few very good friends from when I was a little girl. Dari, whom I mentioned in my above response...we who grew up across the street from each other in Gympie... is the longest of those friendship. She and I keep in touch very often by phone. She still lives in the family home...alone.
DeleteJoy, my friend who visited last week asked Dari if she would like to join her on that bus trip, but the trip would have been too much for Dari. And, I understood that completely. As I've said, I couldn't do it; not comfortably, anyway. Age catches up with most of us...and too often brings discomfort etc., with it.
No matter, though, because Dari and I will forever be close...be the best of friends. We love each other dearly, and have done so since we were little kids. I can still see her racing up our front stairs in sheer excitement to be attending my fourth birthday party! :)
Thanks for coming by again...I appreciate your comments. Take good care.
A custard tart seems like a fine addition to a celebration. Cause for celebration all by itself, in fact!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly had a been a long time since I'd had a custard tart, David. And, I did enjoy it! lol
DeleteThanks for coming by...take good care.
I've known a couple of for 50 and 60 years - but it is getting fewer and fewer.
ReplyDeleteYou both are BEAUTIFUL women. Love, it.
Hi, Sandie...as I commented to Margaret above the longest-standing friend of mine is another of my Gympie friends, Dari. She and I first met when I was three and a half years old, and that sure is a long time ago, seeing I am now 80; and Dari is 86.. We don't get to see each other in person these day, but that doesn't diminish our close friendship in any way. We keep in touch regularly by phone.
DeleteThanks for coming by..take good care. :)
You look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra...you are most kind. :)
DeleteI hope you two beautiful ladies can get together again for longer than a couple of hours. Maybe one of you could stay overnight at the other's home.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that will occur, messymimi. I don't have the room for overnight stayers. And my feet are growing smaller by the day. My footprint on this earth is getting smaller by the day. I don't travel far afield. My excursions from my very humble abode are to my local supermarket...and that is not far a field...only a couple of kilometres. My travel off to Gympie, my old hometown, is not going to happen...not these days/years. :)
DeleteThanks for coming by...take good care. :)
