The world is a sadder place from the passing of Luciano Pavarotti. His magnificence thrilled and inspired us for many years. The purity, clarity of his unique tenor voice caused the coldest, hardest heart to melt. His charismatic charm engulfed us all, I'm sure. I know it did me. Who could not be charmed by the genuine sparkle in his dark, expressive eyes.
Luciano Pavarotti will be sadly missed. Thankfully his brilliance will live long through his recordings and filmed performances.
My neighbours will have to purchase ear plugs over the weekend, a weekend I'm dedicating to the maestro...Luciano Pavarotti...you were my hero. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your extraordinary talent with us all.
I am listening to him as I read. What a gift he gave us.
ReplyDeletePeople liked to knock him but he was my favourite tenor and I liked the fact that he mixed with the pop music too.

I adored Pavarotti...it's a sad day for the world when a gifted musician like him is no longer.
ReplyDeleteI have a special place for him in my heart because, in looks, he reminds me very much of someone whom I loved in the past...this guy could sing too, but not quite in the same sphere.
RIP Luciano...your music brought joy to millions of people.
I have enjoyed his voice all of my life. RIP.

How sad that such a powerful voice has been stilled. He'll be greatly missed. I'm glad I have a couple of his CDs, especially the Christmas music. So beautiful.

ReplyDeleteHe brings tears to my eyes every time I hear his music, Serena...I would have loved to have seen him live. A friend of mine did and he still raves about it.

ReplyDeleteHe exuded a presence, Lady Di, together with that marvellous voice. He had that special "it factor"...if it could be bottled it would be worth a fortune.

ReplyDeleteI the first line, "some can sing opera, he was an opera". There is something so soothing about his voice. Even those Aria's that seem to make no sense at first are gently calmed by his voice.
To lose so much in one person is a greater loss than I believe we all know.

I'm not a great classical music lover but the 3 Tenors brought Opera music to the fore.
