Howabout this for a classic headline!

'Elderley Man Violently Beaten to Death'
The text goes on to say: 'Police initially thought the elderly gentleman had been shot'....now, even I could tell the difference between being beaten and shot!! I wonder where they did their forensic training!!

  1. I guess that's worse than being passively beaten to death.

Obviously diction and style, besides integrity, are also not being taught in Journalism schools.

  2. It reminds me of an episode of "Soap"...years ago. Upon finding a body with a noose around its neck in a shower, it was noticed the body had been shot, stabbed, beaten, hanged by the neck, suffocated, with suspicion of poisoning having occurred....and the comment was..."Well, I guess it's not suicide!" Or words to that effect.
