Reflections

Reflections abound a symphony of silence surrounds in an embrace
Afar the fiery orb bids its final farewell to lingering shadows of day
Tardy birds relish the dying embers as homeward they wend their way
Vignettes endure of treasured moments a word of your hand in mine
Selfish am I in my desire for your presence for our thoughts to align
Together and apart we spent fleeting seconds in a multitude of years
Nimble minutes of infinite consciousness leaving remnants of fears
Thank you for fun-filled moments laughter nonsensical joys shared
For your intelligence compassionate friendship showing you cared

Paintings and poem by me...

  1. And you told me on my most recent Sunday Selections that you weren't an artist? You are a stranger to the truth.

    1. Ahhhh, EC...I just play around, dabble once in a while, for my own entertainment. I've not done any painting or drawing for a while. I feel the need to do so again...soon...

      Thanks for coming by. :)

  2. Very nice, I'm impressed because I can neither paint nor poem. I agree with EC, you are an artist.

    1. Hey, River. I've had a strong urge, desire, lately to do more painting and drawing. I'm going to have to scratch the itch, I think.

      Thanks for coming by. :)

  5. I like rhyming verses: day,way/ mine,align/ years,fears/ shared, cared. That's poetry for me, and it goes well with the subject - reflections on migrating birds and on the presence of a loved one.
As for the two paintings - pity you've displayed only two. I believe you've got more of them, to show your obvious talent.
